Dr. John Batlle
Dr. Batlle received his undergraduate education at the University of Florida where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1979. He then attended the UF College of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1983. After graduating, he worked for the State of Florida and received his commission in the Navy Reserve Dental Corps. He was deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in 2002 where he served as the dentist for Detainee Operations and Navy Hospital GTMO. Some of Dr. Batlle’s many other interesting Navy assignments include humanitarian operations in Kodiak Island, Alaska, and Horn of Africa’s Kenya. Dr. Batlle is a skilled photographer whose office is adorned with images from these adventures. He recently retired as a Captain from the U.S. Navy Reserve after 26 years of service.
Dr. Batlle loves to practice all aspects of general dentistry, with a special passion for aesthetics. He held a Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor Appointment in Community Dentistry at the UF College of Dentistry and Courtesy Appointment in the UFCD Department of Endodontics for thirteen years. He is a member of the North Central Florida International Team for Implantology (ITI) Study Club, Academy of General Dentistry, American, Florida, and Alachua County Dental Associations. He is an active member of the Lake City Rotary Club.
Dr. Batlle is married to his wife, Laura. She is a dental hygienist who taught in the dental programs at Sante Fe College and is an aerobics instructor at Gainesville Health and Fitness. They have two sons, Jonathan and Dylan, who graduated from the University of Florida and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. Dr. Batlle typically volunteers on the Florida Baptist Association Mobile Dental Bus. He has served on dental mission trips to Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Ecuador. He enjoys workouts at the gym, fishing, hunting, scuba diving, surfing and golf.
Dylan H. Batlle, DMD
We are so excited to introduce Dr. Dylan H. Batlle! Dr. Dylan graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Nutritional Sciences and then Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. Following his graduation he elected to spend an extra year in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency Program at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He has been working in Lake City since 2022. Dr. Dylan is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Central District Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
In his spare time, Dr. Dylan enjoys weightlifting, running and hunting.
